Honors, Appointments, Awards

Brian Mustanski, PhD  is among sixteen community leaders appointed to the new Chicago Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Health Advisory Council by Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) Commissioner Bechara Choucair, M.D.  The new council is tasked with providing insight and input for city leaders determining policy affecting the health and well-being of Chicago’s LGBT population in March, 2013.   Brian has also been invited to be on a National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences committee to provide feedback to U. S. Department of Health and Human Services,  March 2013

Craig Garfield, MD was elected as a member of the American Society for Pediatric Research (SPR) in December, 2012

Zeeshan Butt, PhD was named Co-Chair of the Allied Health Community of Practice, American Society of Transplantation through 2014.

Zeeshan Butt, PhD has joined the editorial board of Health Psychology, September 2012

Zeeshan Butt, PhD received a Presidential Citation for Service Excellence, Division 38 (Health Psychology), American Psychological Association., September, 2012

Zeeshan Butt, PhD  was selected as a scientific reviewer for Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) research funding announcements.

Zeeshan Butt, PhD was accepted into Early Career Reviewer Program, Center for Scientific Review, National Institutes of Health.

American Cancer Society honors David Cella, PhD, Professor and Chair. We’re proud to announce that David Cella, PhD is the recipient of the 2012 American Cancer Society Trish Greene Quality of Life Award, recognizing an outstanding investigator in the field of quality of life research.

Joel Voss, PhD has been elected as a member of the Memory Disorders Research Society

Karen Kaiser, PhD received the Medical Women’s Faculty Organization’s award for Public Health research for her poster Black Women’s Awareness of Breast Cancer Disparity and Perceptions of the Causes of Disparity at the Feinberg School of Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine  Eighth Annual Lewis Landsberg Research Day on April 5th.

Lynne Wagner, PhD has been invited to serve as Section Editor for Symptom Management/Palliative Care section of the American Cancer Society journal Cancer. Effective December 1, 2011.
