We are delighted to welcome our newest faculty member Ida Salusky, PhD, MPH. Ida is a Research Associate Professor of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the Center for Community Health. She is a clinical community psychologist and interdisciplinary researcher focused on increasing equity within healthcare and higher education settings. Her work broadly focuses on system-level interventions to address issues of structural inequality and oppression. Ida's program of research has three prongs. Currently, she 1) studies the science of community-engaged research and best practices in developing community-academic partnerships; 2) examines educational access and equity for minoritized students in higher education settings; and 3) conducts research on immigrant mental health to improve systems of care for this population. Ida is passionate about applying research to real-world problems and making social science accessible to the public. Outside of work, she enjoys nature, travel, and time with family. Welcome Ida!
